Use cases / Picking for distributors

Every new hire restarts the training clock.

For industrial and wholesale distributors where turnover means days of shadowing and a spike of errors each time a new picker starts. APXR Pick puts a trainer at every picker's side, on smart glasses: full guidance on day one that steps back as they improve, with the wrong bin and the wrong item blocked at the shelf.

Any distributor that hires faster than it can train.

Industrial and wholesale distribution runs on getting the exact item out of a large catalog, picked by people who may have started this week. The knowledge sits with the veterans, and every departure takes some of it out the door.

Industrial supply

Fasteners, fittings, bearings and MRO supplies, where the right part and the almost right part share a shelf.

Electrical and plumbing

Wire, conduit, valves and fixtures in sizes that look alike from the aisle.

Wholesale distribution

Case and each picks for resellers and retailers, with new hires every peak season.

Branch warehouses

Small teams covering picking, receiving and the counter, where one absence changes the whole day.

Where the mistakes actually start.

Training means shadowing.

A new picker follows a veteran for days, so two people do one person's picking until the new one is ready.

Errors spike with every new start.

Wrong bin, wrong item, wrong quantity. Most get caught at the pack station. The rest reach the customer.

Look alike parts sit side by side.

The difference is a size, a thread or a rating that a new picker cannot see at a glance.

The veterans are the system.

Where everything is and which bins get mixed up lives with the people who have been here longest. It leaves when they do.

Full guidance on day one. Less as they improve.

01 CONNECT

Your pick lists reach the glasses.

Start from a spreadsheet or an export from the ERP or WMS you run today. Running SAP? We go deeper there.

02 GUIDE

Guidance that fits each picker.

A new picker gets every step by voice, in English or Spanish. As they get faster and make fewer errors, the guidance thins out on its own, down to bin and quantity. No supervisor setting, no worker choice to make.

03 VERIFY

The wrong pick stops at the shelf.

The bin and the item are scanned before a pick can proceed. Wrong bin and wrong item are blocked where they happen, not found at the pack station. No glasses? The same flow runs on a phone.

A pick floor your newest hire can work.

No new system to learn first. We start where your data lives today and connect your ERP or WMS only when the pilot calls for it.

  • Full step by step guidance on day one, by voice, in English or Spanish
  • Guidance that steps back on its own as each picker improves
  • Bin and item scanned before every pick, with wrong ones blocked at the shelf
  • Hands free on glasses, the same flow on a phone
  • A supervisor view of every new picker's ramp
  • Your baseline measured against APXR, in a report that is yours either way

Questions distributors ask

Will the guidance slow down our experienced pickers?

No. Each picker gets the guidance they need. A veteran sees two lines, bin and quantity, and nothing else unless something is wrong.

Do our pickers have to wear glasses?

No. Glasses keep both hands free for totes, cases and carts. The same flow runs on a phone.

What happens to the system we already run?

Nothing breaks. APXR runs alongside your current process first, starting from your ERP or WMS export. If you run SAP classic WM or EWM, APXR Pick integrates with it natively.

Ninety days with your newest pickers.

We bring the glasses, start from your current spreadsheet or system export, and agree the success criteria with you before signature. The fee is fully creditable to your first rollout. If the numbers do not convince your team, you keep the report.
